Updated: Jan 11, 2022

With many of us spending more time at home nowadays, you can cross spring cleaning off your to-do list much quicker and earlier than before.

Spring cleaning doesn’t just have to be for your storage, house and/or garage, but it can also be for your boat and dock.

Your boat and boating dock will need a proper scrub before heading out on the water for the season.

Mechanical maintenance requires a professional, however, deep cleaning your boat and dock can easily be done with a few hands.

If you don’t have any extra hands, H2O2 Health Solutions has a hydrogen peroxide solution that’ll make refreshing your boat and dock before summer super easy!

Best Way to Clean Your Boat

First, ensure that you have these items to help you with your cleaning:

  • Brush - with a handle and medium bristles

  • Sponge

  • Cloths

  • Hose

  • Bucket

  • Spray Nozzle

  • H2O2 12% Solution + baking soda

Start by cleaning the outside of your boat with just water to get it wet and prevent any scratching when you begin brushing.

Once the boat is wet, you can use the brush and a soapy solution to scrub the outside of the boat.

Let the boat dry and then take the environmentally friendly 12% solution by H2O2 Health Solution to deep clean the inside and outside of the boat.

  1. Mix the 12% H2O2 Solution with baking soda to form a slurry.

  2. Rub this on all the dirt and grime on the seats, top and carpets.

  3. Let the mixture completely dry and then vacuum the residual baking soda from the applied areas.

  4. For stained carpets, spray the 12% H2O2 Solution onto the stains until wet, then scrub with a brush or heavy cloth, and let dry.

  5. For stubborn stains, you may need to reapply and follow the same instructions above.

  6. No need to rinse either the upholstery or carpets.

  7. Make sure all surfaces are completely dry before using. For any mold or mildew growth, simply spray on the affected areas and let dry.

Let the boat dry and your boat is clean and good to use all season!

How to Clean a Boat Dock

Just like your boat, your dock also needs a thorough cleaning before the summer season.

Some solutions work better than others, depending on what type of dock you have. However, the 12% H2O2 Solution works on any dock without damaging or altering it.

First, inspect your dock to ensure that it is intact and undamaged in any parts.

Next, mix the 12% Solution with baking soda to form a slurry and put on top of your dock where you see any staining, mold or mildew growth.

The solution should dry, and you can reseal the dock with a mildew-resistant sealer or leave it as is until next spring.
